Garden & Grounds

The chateau has a lovely walled garden of about an acre, with a sunny courtyard and areas for outisde dining and a round alarmed swimming pool ( 11,5 x 6m) enclosed by a hedge

Location

This charming 18th century chateau is ideally situated in the heart of what is now a small quiet mediaeval village, Siorac-en-Perigord, right on the Dordogne river, in the middle of the tourist area, not far from Domme, La Roquegageac and Sarlat, yet tucked away from civilisation and as a result very quiet.

Dating originally from 1760 the property has been extended over the centuries, belonging to a series of local nobility. The chateau has a commemorative plaque since it served as an important centre of the Resistance during the last war harbouring several English soldiers. It has recently been refurbished. The distinctive feature of this property is the lightness of the rooms (with wonderful large windows and stone floors), the general feeling of spaciousness ( high ceilings, white walls and uncluttered space) and beauty of the decor in particular the wonderful antiques which makes it a very special place.

Local Activities

All the tourist activities of the Dordogne valley are within easy reach. There is tennis in walking distance as well as golf. You can also swim in the Dordogne river again a close walk as well as canoe
