How to get there

By Air

The nearest airport is Bergerac, 8km away. Ryanair fly from London Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands to Bergerac whilst Flybe fly from Southampton, Bristol and Birmingham.

British Airways fly from London Gatwick to Bordeaux (Merignac), 1 to 1.5 hours away by car or rail . There are also direct flights to Bordeaux from Manchester , East Midlands and Nottingham using BMI Baby.

By Rail

From Waterloo International (London) to Paris Gare du Nord takes 3 hours. Then from Paris Gare Montparnasse direction Bordeaux, change at Libourne and you can arrive in Bergerac within another 4 hours. Or from Waterloo you can change at Lille for Libourne.

Motorrail is also available from the UK to Brive, Bordeaux and Toulouse.

By Channel Tunnel

You can take the Eurotunnel train from Ashford (near Dover) to Calais and then drive down some 700 miles either in a day or taking a more leisurely pace over a few days.

By Ferry

The time taken to drive from the UK depends very much on which ferry crossing one takes (Caen is the nearest) and how leisurely one's approach is to touring through France. It is possible to drive down in a day - some 300 to 450 miles.
